Is there anything Yo Bob CAN'T do?

We established in the previous post that my dad is an expert cake decorator

But did you know that he could do this.........

and this........

My dad just finished up an awesome summer school project for Teacher Tiffany. He made a covered wagon, a hand cart and all the goodies that go inside of them for Tiff's classroom.

This is a peak into the covered wagon.

and the hand cart

He made these little bags of sugar, salt, corn meal, flour and seeds. He sewed each of the bags and filled them then labeled them

He made this little table and chair set, the stove and the barrel of water

He made this tool chest and found these little tools to put in it

He made this trunk for clothes and put together a little sewing kit

These are the clothes that he was ironing onto fabric to put in the clothes trunk

These are the bed rolls that he sewed (yes, I said SEWED! He is now a qualified master seamstress!)

The sewing-piece-de-resistance would be this wagon cover. and his wood working piece-de-resistance would be the detail on this wagon. Notice the hand break at the front of the wagon. It works the brakes on the back wheels on both side of the wagon. Don't forget to check out the hinged box under the footrest on the wagon
Now that I know he has all this secret talent, I'll be asking him to sew me some slacks and a nice blouse for Christmas and then ask him to build me a wardrobe to hang them in :)

The Joy of Painting

My mom would have busted up over this one

Mom--I hope you've run into Bob Ross up there and the two of you are painting lots of happy clouds. As Bob Ross would say:

"We don't make mistakes, we just have happy little accidents."

Birthday Bits-n-Pieces

Whew....I sure can't stretch out "Birthday Month" like I used to. I was barely able to even make it a "Birthday-couple-of-days".

Birthday night #1
Tim made me my favorite home made dinner; bacon with a side order of waffles.
Birthday day #2.......First day of school!!

Birthday night #2.....dinner at the Texas Road house with Tim's mom and dad and my dad (sorry--forgot to take the camera to document night #2--I was still on a back-to-school high and wasn't thinking clearly).

Birthday night #3.....pizza cake and ice cream with Shawn and crew, Jill and crew and my dad.
This is the cake that my dad made for me--he didn't know that he was supposed to screw those little tip thingys on to the tube of frosting. That "Yo Dace" came straight outta the tube.

This is the Baskin Robbin's version of my birthday cake.

And this is the card that he made me. It has now found a permanent home on the wall at my office so that I can see it every day. He even laminated it for me cuz he knows I'm kind of a clutz and spill alot.

This poor family, they have seen way too much of me this year but they were still willing to get together ONE MORE TIME for my birthday. Thanks for helping me celebrate the last birthday in my 30's. I love you guys!

(Buster loves it when I get all gushy!)

I'm kind of a big deal

I've been trying to convince Tim's California family for the past 18 years that I'm kind of a big deal around here. Please help a sister with as much "ooo-ing and ahh-ing" over my blog as you can muster.
