4th of July 2014

In keeping with my blog lameness of only really being able to post during the 4th of July.....ta-da...I present to you the 2014 edition of the Netz-Lafitte-Carrigan-Roberts edition of the 4th of July.

You can see from the last post that we were expecting a special guest star at this year's party.  After a couple months of scary-ness, hospital-ness, early arrival-ness, a little bit more hospital-ness we final welcome Kellyn to the gang.

We gotta start the part off right with the tradition of decorate somebody with newspaper.  This year's creation was Benjamin Franklin.  P.S.  we had a couple of extra guests at the party.  Riley (cute blond girl sitting there front and center and Jake from State Farm sitting a little left).  Team 1 getting to work.
Team 2 getting to work.  Please note Honey Buckets new hair do.  She looks naked! Please also note that she got to come out and play this year and that she was not in lock down.
Team 2 chose to decorate Chase.  I won't tell you that they used a hundred dollar bill outta Busters wallet as the model (who carries a hundred dollar bill around in their wallet?!!?  Buster does....)
Team 1 decorated Jake from State Farm.  Nice glasses!
 Team 1 finished product
 Team 2 finished product
Our second challenge was a photo scavenger hunt.  And it was so dan#@ hot that I forgot to take pictures.  So you will just have to settle for a narration:  One team cheated!  Badly!  They drew pictures of almost everything on the list and took pictures of it.  That's just wrong!

Then we ate!  Aaron and Yo Bob were our grill masters this year.  Watch out Aaron Jean.  Keep showing off those cooking skillz and we may crown you Aaron Jean BBQ Machine and have you cook for us every year!

For our final challenge: Zombie air-soft gun shoot out.  We did it college basket ball bracket style.  Here's a shot of the gallery........
 Tiff vs. Chaston
 Aaron vs. Buster
Jake from State Farm vs. Lydon  (p.s. Lydon ended up winning his round by utilizing the "kill shot" side ways gun hold.  It was hilarious)
 Riley vs. Uncle Boyd
Uncle Jill vs. Bren (Really Uncle Jill.....You got use your beauty pageant smile while competing?)
 Yo Bob analyzing the competition
To cap off the evening we made patriotic ice cream floats (as demonstrated by Aaron Jean)
First you take some vanilla ice cream and add some blue soda.....
 and then some red soda.....
 and then you eat it!!

Off to Grandpa Bob's to watch the fireworks.  But first a little football game.
Lydon was our token big firework lighter this year.  The kids hunkered down waiting for the show.
After everyone left, Aaron broke out his giant gummy bear that he bought himself in Nashville and gave it a test drive

Poor giant gummy bear.  Looks like a chocolate Easter bunny who's had its ear eaten off.
